Workshop Description: Culinary Arts Jr. Chefs Ages: 7-12 Instructor: Joe Garreffa Duration: 12:30-2pm Schedule: Wednesdays: January 15, 22 February 5, 12, 26 March 5, 12, & 19 Workshop Overview: Unleash your child’s culinary creativity in our Culinary Arts Jr. Chefs workshop! Designed for ages 7 to 12, this hands-on cooking class will inspire young chefs to explore the art of cooking while developing essential kitchen skills. What to Expect: In this exciting workshop, participants will dive into the world of flavors and techniques. Activities include: Recipe Exploration: Each session will feature a new recipe, teaching kids how to follow instructions, measure ingredients, and understand cooking terminology. Students will meet with local Chef’s for seminar style discussions about food lineage, cultural cross sections, and accessibility. Hands-On Cooking: Young chefs will chop, mix, and bake their way to delicious creations, gaining confidence and competence in the kitchen. CAW will Partner with Rockland Count Community College Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center in downtown Nyack for onsite, professional kitchen training and experiences. Nutrition and Food Safety: Children will learn the importance of healthy eating and safe cooking practices, setting a strong foundation for their culinary journey. Goals: The Culinary Arts Jr. Chefs workshop aims to foster a love for cooking while enhancing teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence. By the end of each session, participants will enjoy their culinary creations and gain valuable skills to impress family and friends. Cancellation Policy

This is a pre-registration form for a day arts program. You will not be charged. Once you complete this form you will be added to the workshop roster and once we maintain the minimum participants, a payment invoice will be emailed to you for the workshop series and confirmation that the workshop will operate as planned. Lat day of pre-enrollment is Friday, December 13, 2024. Why? We want to honor our teaching artists and not hold their time slot in January if we are unable to reach a capacity of the workshop. Commitment from families means that CAW can fully commit to and support our teaching artists to create and prepare for a wonderful workshop series.
