In September of 2024, CAW rolled out three programs for three age groups of children. A theatre workshop for 4-6, an up cycle and design studio for 7-11 and a painting workshop for ages 12 an up. These programs developed over the weeks and it felt very special, the children filled the studios with joyful connections, creativity, and enthusiasm. This felt very right and in line with the mission of CAW since we began offering arts-based programs in 2020.

In October we sent out a survey to families so that we could learn more about how we can develop our day-arts programs. This information was valuable and useful in helping us design our next session for the Winter of 2025.

We invite you to learn more about our Winter Menu, and if this looks like a good match for your child(ren) we encourage you to pre-enroll.

What does pre-enrollment mean? 

​

This means that we have a minimum amount of students that must enroll for the workshop to be able to pay for the teacher, supplies, time, and space for each workshop. We are committed to creating a space for everyone to partake in any workshop, regardless of ability to pay, however we do have a responsibility to our teachers, bills, and overall ability to operate. Our mission has always been able to accept sliding scale or free tuition for families that need the support. To request a sliding scale or full  tuition, please not this when you pre-enroll. Cost is $350 for each workshop and will be billed via invoice if the workshop minimum participants is met.

Pre-enrollment gathers your information on a form to let us know that you would like to commit to the workshop. There is no cost to pre-enroll. Once we make our minimum of participants, we will send you a payment invoice for the workshop as a confirmation that the workshop will proceed.

If you do not see a workshop that resonates with your child this session, please keep an eye out for our January sessions, and we hope that we will be able to grow offerings to meet the needs, ages, and curiosities of these kids. We will rotate workshops through ages as the sessions rotate, if there is a need and want.

Why not close enrollment closer to the workshop date?

Because we want to be courteous to our teaching Artists and their schedules as well as to the families that may be pre-enrolled. We would not want a teaching artists to lose out on their other opportunities if we do not have enough enrollment, one month is valuable time that they can either prepare for the workshop or find other teaching work.

Money

CAW is flexible.

If you pre-enroll and cannot pay the invoice all at once, we can spread it out over weeks and months.

If you can afford X$, just let us know that amount in the pre-reg form.

If you cannot pay tuition, let us know on the pre-reg form.

Ages 4-6

Measuring, Cutting & Sewing

Participants will learn basic sewing machine, by hand, and safety skills

in addition to making pajama pants

Ages 7-12

Culinary Arts JR. Chef's 

Participants will have hand-on knife and food preparation skills, weekly recipe and lineage exploration, and trips to meet local chefs to learn about local agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Ages 13-17

Geology, Physics, and the Hudson River Valley

A hands-on workshop invites teens to explore the geological wonders that shape the Hudson River Valley and understand the natural processes at play. This program is derived from the Physical Setting/Earth Science Core Curriculum from the NY State learning standards for mathematics, science, and technology.
