THE WORKSHOP
171 Main St. Nyack, NY 10960
The Creative Arts Workshop is an artist collective, located in the heart of Downtown Nyack, NY, which cultivates creative exploration and seeks to strengthen individuality and mindful living practices through hands-on workshops, exhibits, performances, and other public events.
We draw from the history and culture of the Village, weaving in tours to local businesses, restaurants, parks and more with much of our arts programming.

Inside the workshop are three studios: Tony's Studio, The Theatre and Movement Studio, and The Mixed Arts Studio, where our multi-talented teaching artists offer a wide variety of experiential learning for folks aged 4 through adults.

This includes Afterschool Programming, Holiday and Summer Camps, Adult Programming, and Special Events, including Private Birthday Parties!
CAW also partners with local libraries, schools and other organizations to host arts workshops, tours, and events off-campus.

OUR FOUNDER'S STORY
Joe Garreffa has been teaching theatre, movement, and literacy for the last 16 years in NYC Public Schools, the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, and throughout Detroit where he grew up.
Joe is a product of after school arts programming and has brought his passion for educating, creating, and collaborating with other artists to Nyack where he lives with his husband and son. Joe acted professionally and regionally in musical theatre for several years before shifting his work to arts education.
Joe holds a BFA and certificate in Creative Arts Therapies from the New School University which shapes his inclusive approach to teaching art and creating.
Currently, Joe is working to bring purposeful and mindful art making workshops to the Nyack Public Schools Saturday Academy and the Nyack Community with his company, Creative Arts Workshop.
